What’s bigger and better than a Big Mac? Although it’s slightly more expensive, with one burger easily setting you back $8 or more, Carl’s Junior is the place to go if you’re craving for fast food but want something juicier and of better quality.
Carl’s Junior burgers are, to put it simply, fat. Enormous. Gigantic. One of their signature burgers is easily more than 1.5 times of a normal Mcdonald’s cheeseburger. If that’s somehow not big enough for you, there are two other options you can choose from - the double patty and the thick burger, although I’m not sure how you’re going to be able to fit them into your mouth.
Another great thing about Carl’s Junior is that the salsa and drinks are free flow. For students on a budget, could this be considered heaven? The staff don’t even chase you out if you’re mugging there, as long as it’s non-peak hours. At this price, you’ll get a burger, unlimited drinks and a place to study!
Carl's Junior has all the hallmarks of a fast food restaurant - greasy, unhealthy, serves fries and soft drinks, and most importantly, serves you your food fast. However, it's certainly a mark above the rest in terms of the quality of its food and the type of food it offers.
Carl's Junior has excellent burgers in the sense that they are large and filling. I would recommend going for their thickburgers however as that's where the full meaty patty can be appreciated. Their Famous/Super Star burger, while also nice, can feel like a McDonald's burger at times and does not help to distinguish itself from mediocre burger joints. I particularly recommend their Portobello Mushroom Thickburger Burger, a personal favorite of mine - mushrooms and burgers go very well together, especially quality mushrooms like Portobello mushrooms.
Their Beef Chilli Cheese Fries are also an exceptionally indulgent treat - straight cut fries lathered with beef gravy and beef and cheese. Just looking at the fries would make you feel fat, but eating the fries is both filling and fulfilling - the blend of beef, cheese and fries goes exactly as well as you would expect it to be (very) but it's obviously a very sinfully indulgent treat. Do exercise before or after eating it, or share it with a friend. Otherwise, you may enter into a food coma.
Also great about Carl's is that they offer a free flow beverage bar and they have stuff like green tea in addition to the normal boring soft drinks. They also have salsa dips of various levels of spiciness which I like to add to my fries to add a certain zest to it. Great for spice lovers. A plus for this restaurant is also that they don't chase you out if you're studying during non-peak hours and explicitly say so: restaurants which have basic human decency will always be in my good books.
That said, there are definitely better options for burgers around, though perhaps not at the same price. At this price, speed, and convenience, Carl's Junior is a pretty decent place for you to get your burger fix and get really, really fat. At least you enjoy the process though.
I am not a fast food person and will avoid them as much as possible. But I am at the mercy of Carls' Junior's SUPER STAR burger and Beef Chili Cheese Fries. A few years ago, others claimed that two person will be able to share a meal because the portion was like American-size but now, it will be just enough even for a small eater like me. Their burgers did shrink in size but each one of them manage to sustain its signature taste and are still very flavorful. The double beef double cheese SUPER STAR is so fulfilling, both literally and figuratively, it can satisfy my cravings for a few months. A meal cost about $8 and above, it's a little more pricey for fast food, but once a while won't hurt your pockets!
I find that Carl’s Junior provides a unique selection of food as compared to other fast food restaurants. For one, the fries actually still have the potato skin on. I like the freshness and quality of the food they use, which can be seen from the burgers as well. The meat of the burger is juicy and tender and leaves a satisfying aftertaste in your mouth. The burgers also come with sliced onion, lettuce, and tomatoes, which compliment the meat and the sauce.
Carl’s Junior also has free flow toppings, including salsa and onions. If you order a set meal, you also get free flow drinks. However, it is relatively more expensive than other fast food restaurants, but the size of the portion is definitely very value-for-money. If you are craving for fast food, this is the place to go!
Carl's Junior, though a fast food joint, truly provides a deviation from the usual burgers churned out by other fast food outlets. Whenever I'm craving for a burger, I always drop by Changi Airport's Carl's Junior for a quick yet sumptuous meal. Their burgers are huge, but who really cares about eating daintily in public when there are burgers this good? The meat they use is juicy and the other ingredients feel fresh.
Their fries are fine. Not anything brilliant, but better than most fries I've tasted from the common fast food joints peppering Singapore.
It's a bit pricey, but still worth it in my opinion. The portion you receive is really big, after all.
Carl’s Junior has become one of my most frequented fast food restaurants. This place has always been me and my friends’ go to lunch spots for ages. The burgers there are really good and tasty and has been always a treat for my belly.
Recently I tried the Western bacon cheeseburger. The beef patty was well cooked and was tender. The combination of the cheese, beef, bacon and onion rings(Yes onion rings) was godly. Who invented this combination deserves some award. It was super brilliant and a must try if you visit Carls Jr. The chili cheese fries deserves some mentioning as well. The fries are thick and satisfying to crunch on. The cheese is also excellent.
The portions in Carl’s Jr are massive for most people. It can fill your stomach up and keep it full for a long time. The outlet near Dhoby Ghaut mrt(Plaza singapura) is exposed to a lot of human traffic and therefore is noisy. The prices in Carl’s Jr are slightly expensive. A burger can cost in excess of 8 dollars and a meal can go past 12 bucks. But to me, Carls Jr is worth the price.
This place is my favourite place for burgers! Though a bit on the costly side, the burgers are big and good. My favourite is the mushroom burger, as it is juicy and has a healthy portion of vegetables like the other burgers in Carl's Junior. Instead of just the usual lettuce, there are also lots of onions and a few tomatoes. I suppose this is one of the differentiating factors from other burger places.
The fries are brilliant too, and I suspect the chef left a little bit of potato skin at the edges just to prove that real potatoes were used. There are also unique Criss Cut fries, where the fries are fried in a way such that they are criss- crossed. When I can’t decide where to have my next meal, I like to say, ‘When in doubt, go to Carl's Junior!’
Carl's Jr first arrived in Singapore when I was still in primary school. I'm in my 2nd year of Polytechnic and it's a relief nothing much has changed other than the usual addition of items to the menus. Carl's Jr was an eye opener for me then, with the biggest burger available at a fast food joint probably being a Big Mac. Through the years, the franchise has expanded at a brisk pace in Singapore, like other fast food joints and it's great that the quality has remained constant.
The burgers on offer at Carl's Jr are a departure from your usual burgers, with ingredients such as avocado, portobello mushrooms and jalapeno peppers being used. Adventurous eaters will find joy in dining at Carl's Jr. Go in with an empty stomach though, the burgers are as big as you think they are! With drinks and fries in the mix, be prepared for a mid day siesta.
However, the burgers are on the pricey side but you do get what you pay for and there wasn't a single time that i was dissatisfied with the food at Carl's Jr. Another plus point would be a measure of value you get by purchasing the combo due to the drinks being refillable. Beneficial to the more thirsty among us or that one penny pinching friend we have.
Lastly, Carl's Jr is not your average fast food joint. It was a good move to bring the franchise to Singapore, offering something new to the table. Although the food is somewhat pricey and the portions may be too large for a number of us, these are just minor points and don't take much away from the experience.
The big fatty patty and the great variety of sides are what that set Carl Jr different from so many other fast food stores. Juices that squirt out from the meat and cheese that melts in between the burger and patty makes it the perfect burger. However recently, the burger's size is shrinking. You will give the O face if you had Carl Jr before when you see the size of the recent burger. Still, Carl Jr serves the biggest burger in town. Sides are way better than any other burger stores that I had tried. Zucchini is one of the unique sides that they have.
Maybe not many of you know what zucchini is, my suggestion is do not order that if you hate cucumbers. The fried Zucchini is abit bland and the crispness will soon subside if you were to eat the burger first. Now here's the dilemma, should you eat the burger or the Zucchini? Fast-food restaurant should start serving burgers and fried sides separately so that we can enjoy the freshness of both! Maybe the next time you guys can request sides and burger separately.
Carl's Junior is well-knowned for its large sized burgers and big portions. I often find myself having difficulties trying to have a bite of the burger as it is often too large or 'high' for the width of my mouth. However, the size of the burger is what makes it worth the money! What i love especially is the free flow of sauces, especially the real delicious and refreshing salsa sauce, that goes lovely with the chips and fries.
Also, the beef at Carl's Junior doesn't taste that synthetic and the fries are also not as oily, compared to Mcdonald's. In all, Carl's Junior is definitely a great place for burger lovers that have a big appetite. However, people who don't have that huge of an appetite may find Carl's Junior expensive and not worth it as they would most probably find themselves leaving half of what they ordered untouched.
